Triclosan is Safe, Regulated

Statements claiming that the antibacterial ingredient triclosan is not regulated are simply false, the American Cleaning Institute writes in the Chicago Tribune. The FDA “has in its hands a wealth of scientific data showing a distinct germ-killing benefit of antibacterial soaps containing triclosan. Agencies in the U.S. and abroad have affirmed the safety and effectiveness of triclosan for use in a variety of consumer products,” says Dr. Paul DeLeo, ACI Senior Director of Environmental Safety.
